Easter

Have you ever tried google "Easter" on web? You'll find lots of eggs, bunnies or little chickens, but the real reason why whole world celebrates Easter is hard to google.

In the Bible you can find story about Moses leading Israelis from slavery in Egypt into Promised land - Israel. You can read more in book Exodus in the Bible.  There's also story of a lamb and Jesus is sometimes called Lamb of God. Israelis celebrated Passover every year to remember this event. About 2000 years ago, during the Passover Jesus came to celebrate Passover in Jerusalem. He was betrayed and died on the cross for my and your sins. After 3 days Jesus conqered the grave, He is alive and He want to have relationship with us. 

Opiná and Rankovce

This past weekend me and Katka had opportunity to serve in 2 youth groups - Opiná and Rankovce. You don't know where is it? Well it's hard to descire so rather google it :)
 Despite the terible snowy roads on Friday we managed to get there and i was surprised how many youth came in such a weather. After games and worship we talked about endurance in faith based on Bible verse 2.Tim 4,7. I saw many excited young people, who lived their lives with Jesus, but after some time they got burn out and left this way. So we talked about our obstacles and how to overcome them.

On Saturday Katka used jurnalistic approach when talking about castigation at Rankovce youth group. Who? Where? How? Why?.... we followed answers to these question in Bible. The main verse you can find in Mathew 18, 15-17. When we warn someone it must be with love.
 

EXIT Tour Bardejov and Poprad

Hello friends, 

i am sorry i didn't write for longer time. In fall 2012 we experienced great tour in two slovak cities Bardejov and Poprad. We met well known lectors from past tours so its been really like a family meeting. Although we had new team members. The UK band called Faith Child. 

 

They do high quality music, they got heart for such a ministry and they were opened to share their lives with students from 4 high schools in Bardejov and 3 in Poprad. We are glad that even teachers were amazed and local youth groups were encouraged and inspired to tell gospel in their environment. EXIT Tour Banska Bystrica

 I am glad we survived. Without problems. My highlight was meeting with one principal. During the day he went to see all seminars and he liked it. He went to Mr. Graumann seminar about holocaust and took Bible. I could see tears in his eyes when he came to say good bye. We agreed we will see each other soon. Its really a joy to cooperate with school, which values hard work and love for students.
220 people visited friday concert, local Fusion band warm up audience before Divine Attraction. Guys from the band and Rasto from local youth group shared their stories and talked about 4 symbols:
Heart (God created us and love us),
"X" (Sin separate us from Him, everybody sins),
Cross (Jesus died so we can live), 
"?" (What you gonna do about it?)
And the question is what local christians gonna do with crowd of youth in Banska Bystrica that started to think about purpose of life and said "I wanna know more about Jesus."

EXIT Tour training

Dear friends,
yesterday i visited Chvaly BB (Worship BB) which local christian from diferent denominations has once a month for couple years. It was good spiritual preparation for EXIT Tour training in Banska Bystrica tonight. We expecting about 40 youth members. We will teach how to share gospel, how Jesus or Paul did it and we wanna get ready for EXIT Tour which will start in week at 3 high schools in this city. To reach 1500 students we need to be ready and prepared. Please pray with us for teenagers in Banska Bystrica!

KPM 2012 (Conference for Youth Leaders)

Hop on! That was main motto of 19. Conference for youth leaders. Join what God is doing. It was fantastic 4 days full of Christ. 746 attenders could experience 6 main seasons, 4 tracks, 20 seminars, chapel, worship, skits, activities... it was hard, but very beautiful. I already heared couple youth leadres saying that they gonna do some changes in their lives and ministry. Again they got new passion for Christ alone. Glory!

Weekend and Club xp

As i promised i am bringing few photos from weekend with teenagers. 10 boys came, so it had special feeling. We were facing couple obsticles, but it was good sign that we are fighting for gospel.
We played soccer with locals, climb the castle and even helped with reconstruction. At night game we could prove that we are men, not boys :) Of course, we had possibility to look at Zacchaeus and change that happened after he met Jesus.
We continued today. First Club xp visited 11 people. It is a good begining. I hope we will not just have fun, but also discover His purpose for our lives.

Weekend with Košice people

Today afternoon i am leaving with Košice teenagers for weekend to Zborov, village with a castle. We wanna focus on Zacchaeus story from Lk.19, but we also prepared a lot of games and of course we gonna hike to castle. Please, pray for us as we will share gospel to these kids. I'll bring more info and photos later.

Election and what is next...

This saturday we got an election in Slovakia. I like The Simpsons and when i found this picture i laughted but later i realized its quite sad reality. People in Slovakia are frustrated more than ever.
Last couple weeks media revealed several causes. As young family we feel like living in Slovakia is getting harder.
I am thinkig if this country can find somebody like king David or Salamon. They were wise leaders who brought welth and peace for Israel. I know that few candidates in this election are christians, so there is still hope. May God save their characters, cause money and power can really change human. We are praying that Slovakia will get welth and spiritual health, but as we were watching recent reality show it just showed that sociaty goes oposite direction.
I'm not sure about church. How it gonna save. They live in their own world with glimpse of beauty outside, but many times sick inside. How church gonna looks in 21 century? Will be interesting for this generation? Will they carry that MESSAGE about Creator who loves us till the end? End on cross. People are searching for something. If they are missing Christ, there will allways be a hole. May the message about Christ filled this society from the bottom to the top.

EXIT Tour and KPM / spring 2012

I can tell you with joy, that EXIT Tour project will continue. After Žilina, Košice, Nitra and Prešov, this spring we will be in 5th city - Banska Bystica! We gonna cooperate with the most churches and we'll visit at least 3 high schools, serve over 1500 students.
I have been in Banska Bystrica already twice and i was always leaving with good feeling, that God is already working in the city and we can just hop on.

Russia

Some of you might know that we have been in Russia. We wanted use our free time wisely so we decided to go to Russia and help with youth camp. It was my 3rd time there. We were helping slovak missionary Julo Matta who lives there with his family.
St. Petersburg is amazing city with 6 milion inhabitants, beautiful places, rich history and nice people. We had opportunity to visit the most interesting sightseeings, celebrate New Year which is, by the way, the biggest holiday in the country and help at youth camp. We prepared some games, had testimony, helped with guitar workshop. This camp was graduation practice for 9 youth workers who studied last year and half at Youth Leader Course. Katka and me prepared presentation about Slovakia, youth work and our ministry over here. I would never say that i will be in Russia 3 times. There is nothing impossible for God. You can be part of His work somewhere over the planet if you really want.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas full of peace and joy, and lot of succes in family and work in 2012! Thank you for your prayers till now and for prayers while we will be in Russia. All preparations went well.
I was encouraged when i visited planning meeting of Bardejov youth group week ago. I remmember when we were less than 10 people at youth group. Now there are more than forty just workers, responsible for clubs, camps, small groups...its a joy!
I was glad when they invited me to preach and lead worship at Christmas club at Dec.22th, we looked at prophetes and how little Jesus fulfiled all of that.
Rejoice, Son of God came to the Earth to made eternity available for us!

Russia again

Hi,
some of you might know that me and Katka are going to Russia for 2 weeks. We wanna help Julo Matta (slovak missionary) and his family with youth camp there. We are very excited about it!
Russia is the bigest country of the world. There was comunism for many years and if you are watching news you know that it doesnt seems perfect right now. Main religion is orthodox. Minority churches are considered cults. People often looking for spirituality wrong ways.
i had privilege to be there 2 times but for Katka it will be premiere. We will have days off so we decided that we wont eat christmas cakes and just watch TV whole season. We gonna taste some of adventure and help others. I often think about people in Russia since my first visit. I remember guy who was addicted before he gave his life to Jesus.
We manage to cover all expences for flight tickets, visa, accomodation...i want to thank all sponsors. Klub31 from Bratislava, ECAV church Bardejov, Gajdos family, Zuzka S and David S. I used to watch documentaries when i was younger and hoped that one day i will have opportunity to visit all those places on our planet. God saw my desire and used it for His glory. Believe, there is nothing impossible for Him!

Youth group in Obišovce

Yesterday I had privilege to preach at Obisovce youth group. They are going through series of "colourful" topics. Every week they talk about some colour, which is conected with bible verse.
Yesterday was all YELLOW, cause we spoke about Treasure. Main verse was from Mathew 6 where we can read that where our treasure is, there is our heart.
God said he will provide all we need. Someone can get more, someone less, but we need to remember, that we are only administrators of His property at this world. We have everything that matters in Jesus already.

Disciples who make disciples

We believe in Training centre Kompas (JV), that local church is Christs bride. I know church doesnt have good resume in these days. Reason could be, that is it lead by unperfect people. Anything where people are in charge is unperfect. Fortunatelly, it isnt about us, but God. I know many people outside of church and many inside. Maybe some of them just pretend something. I am not here to judge. Many of my friends trust Jesus and giving Him driving wheel of their lives. Do they do mistakes? Sure.

We will meet to study more about God and how he is working in this world with boys from my hometown Bardejov, who are studying in Kosice or Presov. We got study material called Shift19, that is focused on changing believer to a disciple who makes disciples. We will look closer how Jesus did it and how we can apply that to our lives. After small groups we will play soccer, you can come join us to keep healthy not just soul but also body :) Thank you for prayers and support for Katka and me.

Miracle

Maybe you experience miracles regularly. Maybe they are happening around you all the time, but you don't realize it! Let me tell you about one. There was a miracle last week of october in Nitra and first week of november in Presov. 6 schools, over 3000 students, more than 250 lives started new life with Christ, 600 students at concerts and 300 Bibles given....i think we shook with both cities and woke up young generation. There is something more you can know, live and discover. Our lives are set for eternity and many during EXIT Tour turn to that direction.
Yes, preparation was hard, we didn't sleep much, packing and unpacking sound system couple times a day also wasn't very pleasant. BUT it was worthy! We had a lot of fun, great conversations with students and we shared about God who created them and desperately desire for them.
I wanna thank all churches in both cities, volunteers, lectors from ACET, Graumanns for sharing their story, Sindy - came from Germany to talk truth about pornography. Thanks to EXIT team, you are precious.
" I can't take some things back, but i can start new life." said one girl after program at school. "Man, I discovered purpose of life, i enjoy it, this has a pursope!" said youthleader after he saw people coming to Christ.
When i hear this, all this miracle makes total sence for me.

Nitra and Prešov

Awesome time! We enjoyed every minute in Nitra and Prešov. If you would met these young people, you would see passion for His things. They care for their city and people there; their classmates, coleagues, strangers in the bus or at office. Even the last days are really difficult we are looking forward for what Ogd has for us in cities prepared....please, pray for this ministry as we stepping into unknown areas with expectations for changes in thousands students lives.
We starting on Monday in Nitra and we will be in Presov in a week.

EXIT Tour training Nitra

Dear friends, i know many of you are praying for us and our ministry. We really appreciate it. Tommorow we starting training for youth in Nitra and we will be in Presov in a week. EXIT Tour starting in 2 weeks!
I would like to ask you for prayers for training, we wanna share only Gods words so it will became movement among teenagers from church and will give them strength to speak about God to their fellows not only during EXIT Tour, but live out gospel as a lifestyle.
We had lot of troubles form begining of this project. We started later as we should. Schools were changing their decisions about doing EXIT Tour, we had hard time to find places for activities. Its still problem in Nitra so please pray for it! We had to call lectors from Czech to cover bigger schools needs.
We didnt stop. Our desire is to see church growing and bringing joy to Heavenly Father. I'll bring you more info and photos from trainings later. God bless.

JV Fall conference

Just 2 weeks ago all people from Kompas stuff and some youth leaders from all over Slovakia experienced amazing week in Malenovice, Czech rep. at Josiah Venture conference. It was very nice to meet 200 people from 11 countries, who are doing same kind of ministry in whole Eastern Europian region. Accept soccer tournament (which Slovakia won for 3rd time in row) we could share experiences from projects we are doing, we rested, we got inspired also in spiritual way. Main theme was Walk like Jesus - how to make dicpiples like He did?
I have to think over all thing i have heard, cause it was lot in couple days, but i already know He prepared opportunities for every day how to be His disciples and how to make other to follow Him. Take your chance in it!

Turbo trainng 2011

"It was amazing weekend! Thank you." "I wanna start small group with guys from school.""It encouraged me in evangelisation, now i know hot to explain gospel."...and many similar feedbacks we got after Turbo training we did last weekend in Prešov and Žilina for over 150 youth members. We saw how they were excited and equiped to speak about Jesus understandably for youth of 21st century.
